Being creative is more than simply being artistic. After entering McMaster University I learned that creativity is about exploring your own skills and evolving them with and amongst other creative individuals. I learned that challenging yourself and even starting a project from scratch again can work to enhance your end product. My first project was a video on Hamilton about the past and present gentrification, and the ways in which it has changed. Exploring Hamilton gave me the curiosity to explore my creative skills, handle a DSLR for the first time, use programs like Premiere and Photoshop, but mostly, it inspired me to live a creative life. I will work locally, doing photography and design in Hamilton, as well as in the GTA, to expand my skills and become familiar with different creative practises.
